Chinese entrepreneurs and 華商s who are actively engaged in business around the world, including Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the UK, Australia, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Canada, will visit Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province, to collaborate with Korean companies with excellent technology. As more than 200 people visit Korea, attention is being paid to whether a new bridgehead can be secured for domestic companies to enter the global market as well as to enter the Chinese market. In particular, attention is being paid to how Chinese capital, which plays a key role in the Xi Jinping administration's Belt and Road strategy while leading the Southeast Asian economy, will move in Korea.

According to Changwon City officials on the 31st, the 2023 Korea-World Video Business Week, co-hosted by Changwon City, South Gyeongsang Province, the Korean General Association of Chinese Industries, and the Korean Federation of Police and Chinese Industries of the Korean Peninsula, will be held for four days from November 22 at the Changwon Convention Center (CECO) and Changwon City.

More than 200 Chinese businessmen will participate in the event, including Chairman Lim Cho-heum of Thailand, Chairman Noh Sung-jeon of Malaysia, Chairman Jang Geum-woong of Indonesia, Chairman Jang Jin-long of the UK, Chairman Lim Hye-gang of Australia, Chairman Lim Moon-min of Myanmar, Chairman Shin Ki-bang of the Philippines, and Chairman Yang Haeng-yeon of Canada.

In particular, Chae In-ui, chairman of the Hong Kong General Association of China, led the Xinhua Group, which was established in 1957, generating more than 30 trillion won in eight major areas, including finance, infrastructure, education, medical care, and high-tech, not only in Hong Kong and Macau, but also in mainland China, Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, Europe, North America, and Australia. Chairman Chae leads a business community that connects China and the world through Hong Kong.

Chinese capital has a great influence in Southeast Asia, accounting for more than 60% of the ASEAN economy. Chairman Chae, who emphasizes 'innovation', is also known to be very interested in investing in 'innovative technology and 'innovative companies' during his visit to Korea.

Organizers expect this opportunity to be an opportunity for Korean companies with excellent technology to attract Chinese capital investment as well as advance into global markets such as Southeast Asia. In Korea, more than 250 companies, including global small and medium-sized companies such as global general trading company STX, Pan-Korean Fuel Cell (382900), and KCMT, and startups, will participate in the competition and meet with videos. On the 23rd and 24th, the videos will visit the smart factory of Doosan Energy (034020), a renewable energy company, and on the 25th, they will inspect KCMT and STS Robotech, which manufacture new material glass fiber reinforced plastics.

"This event will be a good opportunity for domestic companies to attract investment and exchange technologies from video," said Na Jae-yong, director of Changwon City's Economic Job Bureau. "Korea-World Video Business Week is differentiated from world video conferences aimed at strengthening friendship and exchanging information in that it is an economic exchange event that emphasizes "business."
